Spacious bedrooms are complete with en-suite wet rooms and wireless alert systems, allowing residents to contact a care team member 24 hours a day if additional assistance is required. The high-quality fittings and fixtures are regularly maintained and include an adjustable profiling bed, flat-screen TV and wireless internet connection.
Communal lounges are located across all three floors of Abbey Wood Lodge. Intelligent design helps to guide residents around the facilities and clever use of colour helps residents living with dementia manage spatial awareness and recognition. These designated areas hold fun and meaningful activities including film afternoons, musical sessions, exercise classes and more. Each activity is carefully thought out to promote mental and physical wellbeing with dementia-friendly activities tailored and shaped to each individual’s abilities and preferences.
Our in-house hair & beauty salon comes with a resident hairstylist, who is available to you and all other residents. You are more than welcome to invite your hairdresser to visit if you wish. Here we also provide beauty treatments such as manicures, pedicures and hand massages.
Dining rooms have been designed with maximum care and attention to ensure residents get the most out of their dining experience. Abbey Wood Lodge has a team of chefs producing delicious home-cooked meals that are balanced and nutritious by the needs of the individuals and any special dietary requirements.
Abbey Wood Lodge has a thriving and meaningful activity programme for residents which includes trips out and about in the local community as well as organised excursions to places of interest. Each activity inspires communication, social interaction, movement, reminiscence and more. Residents are also encouraged to continue with their pastimes, sports and community groups they previously engaged in.
Beautifully manicured gardens are the perfect place for residents, their families and friends to enjoy. Residents are encouraged to stay active and even try their hand at gardening!
Family and friends are warmly welcomed to Abbey Wood Lodge. We consider visiting an essential way of ensuring that our residents stay in touch with their loved ones. Visitors are welcome to share time with residents either in the spacious lounges or in the comfort and privacy of their rooms. With prior arrangements, relatives can also join residents for meal times or a quick cup of tea using the communal kitchen facilities. There are also plenty of ways for residents to keep in touch with their family and friends via telephone and internet access available in all bedrooms.
Abbey Wood Lodge is situated in the heart of the ancient market town of Ormskirk. It has been home to market since 1286 and the local parish church of St Peter and St Paul dates back to the twelfth century. The home is located next to Coronation Park which has stunning landscaped gardens and an ornate bandstand. Good transport links are also close by and easily accessed when required. Regular trips to local shops and places of interest such as Hurlston Hall Golf and Country Club, Scarisbrick Hall and Liverpool City Centre are organised for residents.
